Lazulith Lamp 01
A NOMADIC LANTERN
The Lazulith lamp is the result of formal research and experimentations around the bending potentials of the bamboo, combined with other natural materials.
In some cultures, the wonderful technical characteristics of bamboo and its beauty inspire great nobility. This versatile and malleable material here appears curved like the claws of a mount to accommodate delicately a jewel of light and lightness in suspension, to protect it.
Atelier
d’Offard is a traditional wallpaper manufacturer based in Tours (France). Here,
they hand printed a washi paper with linseed oil and natural pigment.
This lamp is designed as a nomadic and tactile object that invites to handling. Simple primary materials are transformed into a play of materiality and organic colors.
All the pieces are made by hand using bending and drilling templates and then assembled with bamboo dowels. At the end, the lighting system is fixed onto a cross shaped structure which supports the socket and the bulb.
