LOUNGE TABLE

This coffee table is a meet-up between wood and bamboo. It highlights the physical mass of the culm and gives a sense of its robustness, while the tabletop, although denser, is limited to a dark and delicate sheet of wood placed on the frame.

The design of this table is part of a search for balance between mastery of form and preservation of the natural curves of each material, their specificity, and their feel.

Presentation of the Memory lounge table, shown here alongside creations by Marie-Amélie Poisson, at the Nova Materiae exhibition (Paris 10th arrondissement) organized by Marie-Amélie Poisson and Adèle Collection.

The table legs are each made from a single piece of bamboo culm cut into different pieces and then reassembled in such a way as to preserve the alignment of the fibers. Only discreet brass screws reveal how they are joined together.

In the same way, the tabletop is made from a single piece of beech wood cut from the sapwood of the tree and then assembled. The natural curve of the trunk, just below the bark, is preserved on each side of the tabletop and softens the silhouette of this piece of furniture.
